Free public skating returns to Brock arenas this holiday season

skating partyFamilies in Brock can once again hit the ice for free over the holidays.

A handful of businesses have joined the Township, the Beaverton Lions Club, Beaverton Minor Baseball and the Brock Community Health Centre to sponsor public skating.

The sessions run in Beaverton on Saturday, Dec. 15 from noon to 2:30 p.m. (sponsored by the Lions Club); Monday, Dec. 23 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. (Tim Hortons); Friday, Dec. 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. (Beaverton Minor Baseball); Monday, Dec. 30 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Brock CHC); Thursday, Jan. 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Beaverton Metal Works, Welder’s Wife, Beaverton Self Storage and Hicktown Mini Bins) and Friday, Jan. 3 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. (Tim Hortons).

In Cannington, they will be held Monday, Dec. 23 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. (Tim Hortons); Friday, Dec. 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Brock CHC); Monday, Dec. 30 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Township of Brock) and Thursday, Jan. 2 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. (Tim Hortons).

In Sunderland, a free skate will be held Saturday, Dec. 14 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. leading into the village’s Santa Claus parade (Township of Brock) in addition to dates on Monday, Dec. 23 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Brock CHC); Friday, Dec. 27 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. (Tim Hortons); Monday, Dec. 30 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. (Tim Hortons); Thursday, Jan. 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Brown and Brethour) and Friday, Jan. 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Wild & Free Dance Co.).

All three arenas will be closed on Dec. 24, 25, 26 and 31, as well as Jan. 1, 2020.
