Police in York respond to 40 collisions in three-hour period

The winter storm blanketing much of the area Friday (Dec. 6) morning has taken a toll on roads.

In a social media post shortly after 9:30 a.m., the York Regional Police noted that they’ve responded to more than three dozen accidents already.

“Be safe on the roads today and stay home if you can. This morning we have already had 40 calls for collisions in only three hours. Slow down, take your time and be courteous to other drivers,” the post reads.

The DRPS also provided some advice to motorists.

“Please drive safe during your morning commute. Take your time and reduce your speeds and increase your braking and following distance,” a post reads.
