Durham Student Transportation Services have cancelled all routes in Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge today (Dec. 2) due to weather.
While schools remain open, the blanket of snow delivered by Sunday’s (Dec. 1) winter storm has resulted in transportation cancellations in the three northern zones of the busing company’s jurisdiction.
Buses throughout Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough, Northumberland and Clarington are cancelled as well.
As of 7:04 a.m., a winter weather travel advisory for northern Durham Region has ended. Environment Canada had previously said moderate accumulation of snow could be expected today — up to 5 cm — with snow expected to taper off after 6 a.m. this morning.
According to Brock Township Councillor Mike Jubb, road crews in Brock were expected to be dispatched around 3:30 a.m. this morning.
“If you have a moment, and see one of our plow or sidewalk crews, please give them a pat on the back and say thank you for the extremely important work they do protecting all of us,” he wrote in a social media post Sunday.
