Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle in Lindsay

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle in Lindsay Thursday night (Nov. 21), according to police.

Kawartha Lakes Police say at about 7:15 p.m., a vehicle travelling on Colborne Street West struck a pedestrian who was reportedly on the roadway.

The driver of the vehicle, as well as an off-duty officer who was travelling in the area at the time, stopped to provide first aid to the pedestrian. The pedestrian was taken to Ross Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Colborne Street West was closed between Angeline Street and St. Joseph Road for the investigation.

Police ask that anyone who witnessed the collision please call 705-324-5252 to speak with an investigator.

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.
