A 12-year-old Oshawa boy has been charged after allegedly threatening to harm a vulnerable 11-year-old during an online chat.

According to police, the 12-year-old indicated that he would come to the victim’s school in Oshawa with a gun.

“The 12-year-old does not have access to a weapon and nobody was harmed,” reads the media release from police.

“The name of the school is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.”

The victim informed his mother of the threat and police were contacted.

The 12-year-old was charged with utter threats cause bodily harm. He was released on a promise to appear.
