An 18-year-old driver has been charged with street racing after being stopped in Kawartha Lakes Monday (Nov. 4).
According to the OPP, an officer was patrolling on Kawartha Lakes Road 121 when a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed was observed.
Police say the officer stopped the vehicle, which was travelling at 143 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.
Colton Dobbs of Lindsay was charged with race a motor vehicle.
“Further investigation resulted in the driver also being charged under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with failing to surrender insurance card,” reads a media release.
