
The Beaverton Town Hall Players have been recognized for its efforts to improve accessibility.
The group was recently presented with of the Durham Region Accessibility Awards for its purchase and implementation of eight hearing-assist devices.
“The devices will help patrons who are elderly and hard of hearing enjoy the many theatre productions no matter where the volunteer actors are on stage,” reads a media release from the Township of Brock.
The Durham Region Accessibility Awards are presented to individuals, organizations, and/or businesses that have championed accessibility in some way in the community.
“Accessibility can be demonstrated in customer service, information and communications, transportation and the built environment, websites and/or other ways that ensure inclusiveness, participation and/or independence of persons with disabilities,” the media release reads.
