Remembrance activities start this weekend in Cannington

Brock Township residents have no shortage of opportunities in the coming weeks to honour our veterans.

Starting this weekend there are a number of events and activities happening around the area to mark Remembrance Day.

The Cannington Legion is set to host a Remembrance dinner on Saturday (Nov. 2) at 5 p.m. For more information, click HERE.

The branch is also set to host a service on Sunday (Nov. 3).

Participants will be forming up at the Legion starting at 10:15 a.m. before marching to the Canninton Baptist Church for 11 a.m. They’ll then head back to the Cenotaph in MacLeod Park for a brief ceremony at noon, followed by lunch at the branch.

The Beaverton Legion will host its veterans’ dinner on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $15 and are available through the branch. There is no charge for veterans.

On Nov. 11, ceremonies will be held at the Cenotaphs in all three villages starting at 11 a.m.
