Two people from Fenelon Falls are facing a drug trafficking charge after police allegedly seized 27 grams of suspected cocaine during a traffic stop.
According to police, an investigation by the OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit led officers to stop the vehicle on Highway 35, south of Coboconk, on Tuesday (Oct. 8).
The occupants of the vehicle were subsequently arrested and charged, as officers allegedly seized the drugs and drug paraphernalia, along with the 2017 Ford F-150.
Leigh Ann McLean, 56, and Michael Walker, 53, were each charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine.
They were both held pending bail hearings.
“The investigation is ongoing,” reads a media release from police.
