A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle near Fenelon Falls Saturday (Oct. 5) night.
According to the OPP, emergency crews were called to assist at a serious collision on Kawartha Lakes Road 121 shortly before 8:30 p.m.
“A vehicle driving northbound on Kawartha Lakes Road 121, near Fenelon Falls, struck a pedestrian on the roadway. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and called for assistance,” reads a media release.
The 41-year-old pedestrian – whose name has not been released pending the notification of next of kin – died at the scene of the collision.
A post-mortem examination has been ordered and will be conducted at the Ontario Forensic Pathology Services building in Toronto.
The road was closed for several hours for the police investigation.
“The circumstances surrounding this cause of the collision remain under investigation,” the media release reads.
