Brock Township residents are invited to stop into one of the local fire halls Sunday (Oct. 6) as part of Fire Prevention Week.
This year’s theme is ‘Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!’ and is aimed at educating everyone about the small but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe.
“If there is a fire in your home, you may have as little as one to two minutes to safely escape. Escape planning and practice can help you make the most of the time you have, giving everyone enough time to get out,” reads a media release.
“Plan ahead for your escape. Make your home escape plan and practice today.”
The open houses at the fire halls in Beaverton (360 Bay Street), Cannington (30 Laidlaw Street North) and Sunderland (217 River Street) are slated to run from noon to 3 p.m.
“Please come and visit the firefighters and learn about fire safety at your local fire station,” the media release reads.
