Durham Region has issued an update on the construction of a roundabout on Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23) near Wilfrid.
The intersection is currently controlled by stop signs for vehicles traveling east and west along Regional Road 12 but will be converted to a single-lane roundabout.
Construction got underway in July and should be completed by mid November.
According to the Region, Lake Ridge Road will be closed north of Regional Road 12 starting October 8 for approximately four weeks though unfavourable weather conditions may affect the work schedule.
During the closure, the intersection will operate as a three-way stop.
“The Region realizes that the work is disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews,” the update reads.
