Toronto man seriously injured after being thrown from motorcycle

A 56-year-old Toronto man suffered serious injuries after being thrown from his motorcycle in a single-vehicle collision on Simcoe Street in Scugog Township Thursday (Sept. 19).

According to the DRPS, the man was travelling northbound on Simcoe Street around 7 p.m. when he lost control between Shirley Road and Concession Road 3, south of Port Perry.

“He was thrown from his blue Harley Davidson motorcycle and landed in the east ditch as the motorcycle continued into a farmer’s field,” reads a media release from police.

The man was transported to Lakeridge Health – Port Perry with serious but non-life threatening injuries and was later transferred by air ambulance to a Toronto trauma centre for further treatment.

The road was closed for several hours for the police investigation.
