Volunteer serves some time in the clink in support of elder abuse programs

A jail-and-bail fundraiser over the weekend raised close to $1,000 in support of local elder abuse programs.

Despite loudly proclaiming his innocence to anyone within earshot, Beaverton resident and volunteer extraordinaire Jack Little was “arrested” by Brock Mayor Debbie Bath-Hadden, turned over to the DRPS and thrown in a make-shift jail at the village’s fairgrounds.

He collected a total of $970 worth of bail money, with proceeds supporting the Durham Elder Abuse Network.

The initiative was organized by a group hilariously known as the SHITS (Seniors Helping In-Trouble Seniors) and GIGGLES (Girls In Gillespie Gardens Lending Everyone Support and Services) committee.
