A 40-year-old man that was wanted for a series of crimes throughout Durham has been arrested.
According to the DRPS, officers located near a green space near Consumers Drive in Whitby and arrested him without incident.
David Haagard of no fixed address has been charged with four counts of theft under $5,000 as well as two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of fraud under $5,000 and two counts of use stolen credit card.
He was held for a bail hearing.
Police issued a warrant for Haagard’s arrest in early August.
“During the month of June the suspect attended four separate gas stations located in Pickering, Ajax and Oshawa, pumped fuel into his vehicle and left without paying. The suspect was also captured on video surveillance using stolen credit cards to purchase items at two separate gas stations in Whitby,” reads a media release.
Police also believe he was responsible for several vehicle break-ins at Honeys Beach Road in Scugog.
