A traffic complaint in Havelock has led to an impaired driving charge for a Lindsay man.
According to the OPP, officers stopped a vehicle on Ottawa Street (Highway 7) just after midnight on Sunday (Sept. 1) and the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Carl Porter, 32, of was arrested and charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration – 80 plus.
He is slated to appear in Peterborough court on Sept. 19.
“The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight,” reads a media release from police.
“Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.”
