A Malahide Township man has been charged after the OPP stopped a vehicle for speeding on Portage Road.
According to police, the ensuring investigation by officers on Friday (Aug. 23) revealed that the vehicle was not equipped with an approved ignition interlock device, as required for the licensed driver.
Harry Terpstra, 50, has been charged with speeding and drive motor vehicle not equipped with an approved ignition interlock device.
He is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on Oct. 1.
According to the Ministry of Transportation, an ignition interlock is required for motorists convicted of impaired driving or those that have had their licenses suspended three times over a 10-year period for a combination of impaired driving charges.
