
An 18-year-old male camp counsellor is facing a pair of charges after a six-year-old girl reported that she was inappropriately touched at a summer camp in Whitby.
According to police, the incident allegedly occurred on Tuesday (Aug. 20) at a reptile zoo facility in Whitby.
“The six-year-old female victim was enrolled in a week-long summer camp when the single incident occurred,” reads a media release from police.
“When the accusation came forward, the facility was notified and the employee was immediately suspended from work. The camp administrators have co-operated fully with this investigation.”
Quinn McGrath, 18, of Oshawa, has been charged with sexual assault and sexual interference. He was held for a bail hearing.
