DRPS officer adopting dog allegedly stolen from humane society

A DRPS officer is adopting a dog that had been allegedly stolen from the Toronto Humane Society and recovered in Pickering.

Milo, a 10-month-old yellow lab, was taken from the shelter on Friday (Aug. 9) but was returned safely a couple days later after the pup was tracked down in Durham.

If that news wasn’t good enough, Milo has been adopted by one of the officers that helped bring him back.

“We are absolutely thrilled to tell you that Milo found his forever home today! One of the police officers who helped bring Milo back, fell in love with his sweet and precious personality! We wish them both happiness and joy for their new life together,” reads a social media post from the humane society.

While the adopting officer would like to remain anonymous, Milo will be making an appearance at Durham Region headquarters on Thursday (Aug. 15).
