The Peewee girls squad from Cannington capped off an incredible season by winning a tournament championship.
The team won the year-end tournament hosted by the Victoria-Brock Baseball Association on its homefield over the weekend.
Cannington went on a hot streak after a hilarious mid-season addition to the team – a discarded baseball they found in the dugout and affectionately named Jeffrey.
“The girls put him out in the dugout at the beginning of each game and if you check our scorebook, we didn’t lose a game after that. Including the tournament,” said coach Kevin Fasolino.
Team members include Katelyn Fasolino, Addison Fowler, Valerie Mann, Josie Nicholson, Natasha Nicholson, Allexis Russell, Samantha Schloroff, Addison Underwood and Keira Dayment.
The coaching staff is comprised of Fasolino, Mac Nicholson and Kelly Dayment.
