Forcible confinement investigation results in charges for three men

Three men are facing an array of charges after a woman reported that she was forcibly confined in an Oshawa apartment for several days.

According to police, the victim was forced to stay against her will at an apartment on Simcoe Street North against her will between Friday (Aug. 2) and Monday (Aug. 5).

“The victim was able to get a cell phone on Monday and she reached out to a friend for help,” reads a media release from police.

“Police were able to identify the location and gained entry to the apartment. The victim was taken to a local hospital to be examined. Three suspects were arrested inside.”

Investigators later executed a search warrant on the apartment, seizing drugs and cash worth approximately $32,500, police say.

Mihael Costache, 51, of Viewlake Road in City of Kawarthas has been charged with sexual assault, forcible confinement, fail to comply, possess Schedule I substance (cocaine), two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine, cocaine), two counts of possess cannabis for the purpose of selling and possess proceeds obtained by crime.

Shane O’Donnell, 33, and Mathew Seguin, 28, both of Simcoe Street North in Oshawa have been charged with forcible confinement, two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine, cocaine), two counts of possess cannabis for the purpose of selling and possess proceeds obtained by crime.

They were all held for a bail hearing.
