Five men arrested following break-in at Kawartha Lakes business

Five men were arrested following a break-in at a business in Kawartha Lakes Monday (July 8) morning.

According to the OPP, officers received information that five unknown men were on site and appeared to be in the process of removing various items around 1:45 a.m.

“Officers responded to the call but the males were gone on arrival,” reads a media release from police.

“Frontline officers worked with members of the Emergency Response Team, who received assistance from the Durham Region Police Service Canine Unit, and all five suspects were located and arrested.”

Tibor Balog, 32, of Toronto, has been charged with break, enter a place with intent to commit an indicatable offence; disguise with intent; mischief – destroys or damages property and obstruct peace officer.

Robert Szukenyk, 19, of North York has been charged with break, enter a place with intent to commit an indicatable offence; disguise with intent; mischief – destroys or damages property; obstruct peace officer and possession break in instruments.

Three others – 26-year-old Elemer Lazi of Ajax, 30-year-old Geza Karaszi of Scarborough and 35-year-old Krisztian Ruszo of Scarborough – have each been charged with break, enter a place with intent to commit an indicatable offence; mischief – destroys or damages property and obstruct peace officer.
