Notice of the passing of development charges by-laws by the Township of Brock

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Brock passed Development Charge By-laws No. 2880-2019 and No. 2881-2019 on the 17th day of June, 2019, under Section 2 of the Development Charges Act, 1997.

AND TAKE NOTICE that any person or organization may appeal to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal under Section 14 of the Act, in respect of the Development Charges By-laws, by filing with the Clerk of the Corporation of the Township of Brock on or before the 26th of July, 2019, a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the By-laws and the reasons supporting the objection. Appeals filed with the Office of the Clerk, at the address below will be accepted on or before July 26th, 2019. A processing fee will be payable to the Corporation of the Township of Brock Clerk’s Office with the appeal application. The appellant is advised to contact the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (formerly OMB) to access required forms and applicable Provincial fees.

The charges in the aforementioned by-laws will apply to all new residential and non-residential development, subject to certain terms, conditions and limited exemptions as identified therein.

Municipal-wide development charges are levied against new development to pay for the increased capital costs related to the provision of such municipal services as General Government, Library, Parks & Recreation Schedule 1 below sets out the development charge rates applicable throughout the Township of Brock. Municipal services of Fire Services, Public Works: Building & Fleet and Roads and Related are shown in Schedule 2 below.

Development charges are imposed on the development of all lands located within the geographic boundary of the Township of Brock. A key map has not been provided.

The development charges imposed under the By-law come into effect on the 17th day of June 2019. Copies of the complete Development Charge By-laws are available for examination during regular business hours (weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) in the offices of the municipality located at the address shown below and on the website at www.townshipofbrock.ca.
