Two facing impaired driving charges after vehicle ends up in ditch

Two people are facing impaired driving charges after a vehicle went into the ditch on Peace Road in Kawartha Lakes.

“Upon arrival on scene, officers noted that there was a second vehicle present. It was determined that the second vehicle had arrived to assist the vehicle in the ditch,” reads a media release from the OPP.

“Further investigation indicated that both drivers had been consuming alcohol and each was subsequently arrested and charged.”

Nathan Huntley, 39, of Lindsay has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

He is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on July 25.

James Markussen, 30, of Reaboro has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and having care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available.

He is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on July 11.
