Investigators are looking for witnesses to come forward after a man was stabbed during an apparent road rage incident in Pickering on Wednesday (June 5).

According to police, officers responded to a call about a stabbing on Notion Road around 7:15 p.m.

“The 58-year-old victim advised he was involved in a verbal altercation with an unknown suspect in the Walmart parking lot near Brock Road and Pickering Parkway in Pickering,” reads a media release from police.

“The victim was operating a red Hyundai Santa Fe and the suspect was operating a newer Volvo S60 black in color. The victim left the area and the suspect followed him to Notion Road and Kingston Road. At a red light, the suspect got out of his vehicle, approached the victim’s car and stabbed him several times in the upper leg. The suspect then drove off after several good Samaritans intervened.”

The suspect is described as male, black, short and in his 20s, while his vehicle is described as a black Volvo S60.

“Investigators would like any witnesses that may have seen the altercation to come forward and anyone who may have dash cam video of the suspect vehicle to contact investigators,” the media release reads.
