Police were called to Sunderland Tuesday (May 28) after receiving reports of a bear in a residential area.
According to a social media post from the DRPS around 3:30 p.m., the bear was spotted in the area of Doble and Albert streets.
“Schools in the area have been advised. Ministry of Natural Resources notified. Bear is up in a tree presently,” the post reads.
A follow-up post less than an hour later notes that officers were able to “safely escort” the bear back to its natural habitat.
