Mother of baby found at Georgina fire hall is in good health: Police

While the newborn baby found at a Georgina fire station earlier this month is in the care of Children’s Aid Society of York Region, police say the mother has been located and is in good health.

On May 14, shortly after 3 a.m., York Regional Police were called to Georgina Fire Station 16 for a report of a baby that had been found. It is believed the newborn baby boy was left outside the building sometime between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. that morning.

The baby was found lying at the door with no signs of injury, according to police. He was taken to a hospital as a precaution but is in good health.

Through a social media post at the time of the incident, police asked that the mother contact them so they could ensure she was OK.

Police would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance in this case.
