A Port Perry man is facing four charges impaired for driving, resisting arrest and assault after being stopped at a RIDE check over the weekend.
According to the Kawartha Lakes OPP, the arrest came as officers were conducting a RIDE program on Eldon Road Sunday (April 28).
“A vehicle entered the RIDE check area and the ensuing investigation led to the arrest of the driver,” reads the media release from police.
Paul Rogers, 57, has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), operating a motor vehicle while impaired – alcohol and drugs, resist peace officer and assault with intent to resist arrest.
He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 6.
