
A North York man is facing 11 charges after police allegedly found a handgun and drugs during a traffic stop in Orillia.
According to police, officers with the street crime unit conducted a traffic stop on Memorial Avenue in Orillia on Tuesday (April 9).
“As a result of a short investigation police were able to seize a quantity of cocaine, cash, and a handgun. Central Region Canine was called in to assist with the investigation,” reads a media release from police.
Jawayne Lewis, 26, has been charged with possession of a Schedule I substance, possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and nine firearms related charges.
He was held in custody and is set to appear in court via video on April 17.
