Fatal accident closes road east of Bobcaygeon

A section of County Road 36 in Peterborough County has been closed following a fatal accident this morning (March 17).

According to police, the accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. near Gypsy Point Road, east of Bobcaygeon.

“A motor vehicle was travelling on County Road 36 when it left the road and collided with a hydro pole. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene,” reads a media release from police.

“The cause of the crash remains under investigation and the identity of the victim will not be released until next of kin are notified.”

County Road 36 will remain closed at Gypsy Point Road for several hours for the police investigation.
