Investigators are looking for two suspects after an officer was dragged by a fleeing vehicle in Oshawa Wednesday night (March 13).
Police were conducting a traffic stop on Capreol Court in Oshawa at approximately 11:30 p.m. for a suspected impaired driver. The driver reportedly became irate and attempted to drive off, according to police.
In attempts to stop the suspect, the officer was partially inside the vehicle and as a result, was dragged for several feet. The vehicle made a U-turn and headed directly towards the other officer, according to police.
The officer in the vehicle managed to break free and suffered only minor injuries to his leg.
During the incident, both DRPS officers discharged their firearms at the vehicle. No other injuries have been reported at this time.
The suspect vehicle fled from the scene at a high rate of speed. Investigators are looking for a 21-year-old male from Toronto. Police have not released any information regarding the second suspect.
