Season comes to a close for Atom Wild in OMHA semifinals

A highly successful season for the Atom Wild has come to a close in the OMHA semifinals.

Having dropped the series opener on Feb. 24, Brock battled back to tie the series with a 4-3 win in Beaverton in Game 2. Unfortunately, the local club couldn’t take control of the series the following day, losing 4-2 on home ice.

The Wild travelled to Wingham on Saturday for Game 4, falling short of the finals with a 6-3 loss.

“Although our goal was the All-Ontario finals, the effort and determination the kids displayed with their competition was remarkable,” said Coach Scott MacLeish.

“To be in the top four in all of Ontario is a huge accomplishment for themselves, as well as for Brock Township. The kids and parents represented our community with nothing but class. I’m very proud to have had the opportunity to coach such a great group of kids and they should all feel extremely proud of their success.”

The Atom Wild posted a 30-15-4 record during the season, going 10-5 in the postseason overall.

Members of the Atom Wild include Cashe Wilson, Thomas Cohoon, Benjamin Gregson, Luke Malcom, Mason Mitchell, Austin Norris, Ethan MacLeish, Tarquin Talsma, Shawn Clark, Mason Pardy, Douglas Pullin, Tyson Barnett, Kruz Martin and Dax Giguere.
