A weekend fundraiser generated more than $10,000 for the victims of the Lagoon City condominium fire earlier this month.
Organized by Keggers on the Water, the event Saturday (Feb. 23) evening featured a silent auction, buffet dinner and live entertainment.
It drew a packed house, with the amount raised surpassing the expectations of organizers.
“Members of the community were pouring in with items for the silent auction and donations are still coming in,” said Susan Potalivo.
The fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 4 and quickly engulfed several units at 31 Laguna Parkway.
Close to 40 firefighters spent hours extinguishing the blaze and the cost of damage has been estimated at $1.8 million.
No injuries were reported.
