Following a two-year absence, the midway will be returning to the Beaverton Fall Fair this September.
The fair board made the announcement via a social media post on Sunday (Feb. 17) morning.
“Thank you to the past fair members for all of your hard work over the past seasons, although we are sad to see you go we welcome new fair board members to the team,” it reads.
“With many great ideas and hard work, we are sure most of you have either seen or heard the news already that we took your ideas, we listened to each one of your voices. We believed we could achieve so we went out and we did.”
In an interview later that day, Mike Jubb – a member of the fair board executive and township councillor – said he was thrilled by the announcement.
“It is absolutely wonderful news that the midway is coming back to the Beaverton Fall Fair,” he said.
“The people of this community showed up in great numbers to the (fair board’s) Annual General Meeting in January, proving that the community is fully behind this historic yearly event. I can hardly wait for September and I am proud to be a member of the board.”
