OPP cruisers collide in Kawartha Lakes

An OPP officer was taken to hospital with minor injuries after two cruisers reportedly collided Friday morning (Feb. 15).

According to police, the collision happened on Monck Road, between Taylor and Hills roads in Kawartha Lakes, shortly before 10 a.m. Friday.

Police had reportedly just left a domestic disturbance when two OPP cruisers collided. One officer was treated at and released from an area hospital with minor injuries. The second officer and his two canine partners were uninjured in the crash.

Monck Road was closed for several hours while members trained in collision reconstruction measure and document the scene.  

OPP tweeted shortly after 5 p.m. that the vehicle had been removed from the roadway.
