Online fundraiser launched in support of Uxbridge man that suffered critical injuries in accident

An online fundraiser has been launched after a 22-year-old Uxbridge man suffered critical injuries in a car accident last month.

As Quinton Simonaux continues to recover at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, a GoFundMe page has been launched to help support his family. It’s raised more than $1,000 in four days.

“I am so overwhelmed with the generosity and kindness in people’s hearts. I can’t thank everyone enough,” reads a post from his mother, Johanne, thanking those that have made donations thus far.

Simonaux was airlifted to the hospital following the two-vehicle accident, which occurred on Durham Regional Highway 47 on Jan. 29.

Police say he lost control of the vehicle he was driving, a Ford Focus, while travelling west and collided with a Hyundai Elantra.

First responders attended the scene and provided medical assistance to both drivers of the vehicles. The 25-year-old female driver of the Hyundai was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
