House fire on Nine Mile Road causes $150,000 worth of damage

A fire Tuesday (Jan. 29) night caused significant damage to a home on Nine Mile Road in Beaverton.

According to Fire Chief Rick Harrison, the fire was reported around 11 p.m.

“It appears the fire started on the exterior of the house and burnt through into the interior. Homeowner could smell something burning and the smoke alarm also activated at that time,” he said in an interview.

Upwards of 30 firefighters from the Beaverton and Cannington halls responded to extinguish the blaze, which caused approximately $150,000 worth of damage.

No injuries were reported.

A cause has not yet been determined as the investigation is ongoing.
