A female teacher at King Albert Public School in Lindsay has been charged with assault following an incident involving a student last week.
While few details have been released, the Kawartha Lakes Police Service launched an investigation on Friday (Jan. 25) after receiving a report about an incident that had occurred at the school the previous day.
“As a result, a female teacher employed at the school has been charged with one count of assault,” reads a media release.
“The victim, who is a student of the school, did not suffer physical injuries as a result of the assault and the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service believe this was an isolated incident.”
The accused will appear in Lindsay court on March 7.
“The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim,” police said.
