New drop-in program launches in Cannington to get residents out of the cold

The Nourish and Develop Foundation has launched a new drop-in program in Cannington for residents looking to get out of the cold.

While the building is also open to the public through the week, the drop-in program is slated to run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays, as well as from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays.

“We are not limited to these hours, if you need assistance or a place to warm up outside of these hours please call or text us without any hesitation – we are always here to help the best we can,” reads a social media post.

Residents are invited to stop into the Nourish Community Hub for hot meal or coffee and snacks; pick up clothing and toiletries; use computers, Internet and a fax machine; and collect information and referrals for housing, mental health, legal aid, and other support services.

For more information on the Nourish Community Hub, call 705-432-2444, send a text message to 705-928-TNDF (8633), visit www.tndf.ca or check out the group’s FACEBOOK page.
