Something’s cooking in Cannington

If eating healthier is on your list of New Year’s resolutions, you may want to pop into the Nourish Community Hub on a Wednesday.

Free community lunches featuring fresh, local ingredients are held on alternate weeks from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There’s also a Table Talks series, also from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., that combines delicious food with guest presentations on a range of topics.

On Wednesday (Jan. 2), volunteers with The Nourish and Develop Foundation served up minestrone soup, with freshly-made cheese scones in the first community lunch of 2019. Other dates for the program this month are Jan. 16 (serving beef chili) and Jan. 30 (chicken noodle soup casserole).

Table Talks slated for this month are Jan. 9 (pasta bake casserole, with a presentation on New Year’s resolutions to get yourself organized) and Jan. 23 (easy stromboli).
