Police identify snowmobilers that were found dead in Peterborough area lake

Police have identified the names of the two snowmobilers whose bodies were recovered from a lake in the Peterborough area on Dec. 26.

According to the OPP, the bodies of Toronto residents Gerald White, 76, and Patricia White, 69, were found in Jack Lake, south of Apsley, around 10 a.m.

“The male and female snowmobilers did not return from their ride last night and were last seen at 11 p.m. They were located this morning approximately 30 feet from shore and were pronounced dead at the scene,” a media release reads.

The investigation is ongoing and will include a post-mortem examination.
