Driver airlifted after serious collision near Little Britain

A man was airlifted to a Toronto hospital after a collision near Little Britain on Wednesday (Dec. 26) afternoon.

According to the OPP, the two-vehicle collision happened shortly after 2 p.m. at the intersection of Valentia and Ramsey roads. A pickup truck was reportedly travelling south on Valentia Road and an SUV was travelling east on Ramsey Road when the collision occurred.

Police say the driver and lone occupant of the pickup truck was transported from the scene via Ornge ambulance to a Toronto-area hospital with serious injuries. The occupants of the SUV were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

As of 4:30 p.m., Valentia Road was closed at Zion Road and Elm Tree Road and Ramsey Road was closed at Ogemah Road. The OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) unit was on scene to assist with the investigation. It is anticipated that the roads will be closed for several hours.
