Secret Santa for a Senior delivers 1,200 gifts across Durham

The Secret Santa for a Senior program delivered more than 1,200 gifts across the region this holiday season.

Co-ordinated by the Durham Elder Abuse Network (DEAN), the campaign sees area residents and sponsoring gift packages – including a personal needs item (such as shampoo, conditioner or lotion), a comfort item (a pillow, pajamas or winter clothing) and an interest item (a book, magazine or treat) — for elderly residents.

“We would really like to thank the community of Durham Region for the unbelievable amount of support we received,” said Beaverton resident Jennifer Josephson, chair of DEAN

“As someone who delivers, I can say that the individuals who receive gifts truly appreciate them as well as the visit.”

More than 130 gifts were delivered in Brock Township.
