Police are searching for a suspect and a township resident is looking for answers following a hit-and-run accident along Thorah Park Boulevard overnight Thursday (Dec. 14).
While no information has been released by the DRPS, it looks as though a vehicle left the road and slammed into a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am, owned by Donny Beatty, that was parked in a residential driveway.
“I’m not sure what happened, I just woke up to this. My poor car is totaled,” he said, sharing photos of the wreckage and tracks leading up to it.
“Looks like someone was either drunk or fell asleep because they went off the road and across my front lawn. Plowed into the car, backed up and drove off.”
Beatty called the police, who recovered enough evidence to narrow down the search for the vehicle involved.
“It was a red Chevy, small truck or SUV. The cops got a piece of his grill,” he said.
Sadly enough, this kind of accident has become commonplace for Beatty and his family since they moved into the home, which is located near a slight bend in the road.
“This is the third vehicle that’s been hit since we’ve lived here.”
He’s asking residents to keep an eye out for the vehicle involved, which would have sustained quite noticeable damage to the front end.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Durham Regional Police at 1-888-579-1520.
