Santa Claus is coming to Sunderland on Saturday night

Santa Claus is gearing up for his trip to Sunderland this weekend, the final parade stop in Brock Township for 2018.

The village’s annual Santa Claus parade is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 8).

Organizers are expecting upwards of three dozen entries.

“We just hope everyone can come out and enjoy,” said Joan Down.

“If you can’t enter a float then just come out and enjoy the beautiful twinkling lights, the fun floats and the great atmosphere.”

As always, residents and visitors are asked to refrain from parking along the parade route, which includes portions of Park, Doble, James, Cedar, Water, Jones, Maple, River and Albert streets.

Those taking part are asked to gather at the arena no later than 6:30 p.m.

To pre-register, contact Down at joan.down@sympatico.ca or 705-357-3852.

The Township of Brock has sponsored free public skating at the arena from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
