Free public skating returns to Brock over the holidays

Families in Brock can once again hit the ice for free over the holidays.

A handful of businesses have joined the Township, the Beaverton Lions Club and the Brock Community Health Centre to sponsor free public skating.

The sessions run in Beaverton on Sunday, Dec. 16 from noon to 1:50 p.m. (sponsored by the Lions Club/Kim & Gerry Lodwick of Re/Max Country Lakes Realty); Thursday, Dec. 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Tim Hortons); Friday, Dec. 28 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Re/Max Country Lakes Realty); Wednesday, Jan. 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Tim Hortons); Thursday, Jan. 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Brock CHC) and Friday, Jan. 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Township of Brock).

In Cannington, they will be held Thursday, Dec. 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Township of Brock); Friday, Dec. 28 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Tim Hortons); Wednesday, Jan. 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Brock CHC); Thursday, Jan. 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. (The Locker) and Friday, Jan. 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Tim Hortons).

In Sunderland, a free skate will be held Saturday, Dec. 8 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. leading into the village’s Santa Claus parade (Township of Brock) in addition to dates on Thursday, Dec. 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Tim Hortons); Thursday, Jan. 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Tim Hortons) and Friday, Jan. 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Brock CHC).

All three arenas will be closed on Dec. 24, 25, 26 and 31, as well as Jan. 1, 2019.
