Three people were taken to hospital following a crash on Highway 12 at Concession 2 Thorah on Friday (Nov. 30) morning.
According to Fire Chief Rick Harrison, the accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. and involved two SUVs that each had two occupants.
“Three of the four were taken to the hospital with minor injuries,” Chief Harrison said, noting that both of the vehicles sustained significant damage.
“The occupants were lucky. They were very lucky.”
While no details have been released by the OPP, it appears that one of the vehicles was either crossing or turning onto the highway when the collision occurred.
The front end of one of the vehicles was crumpled into the engine block, while the other was thrown into the ditch on the northeast side of the intersection.
Three EMS vehicles and three from the Brock Township Fire Department responded to the call, in addition to the DRPS and OPP.
One lane of the highway was closed to traffic for close to an hour but has since re-opened.
