Police chases in Beaverton and Scugog called off due to safety reasons

Two motorists that skipped roadside spotchecks as part of the Festive RIDE campaign sparked police chases in Beaverton and Port Perry last week.

While officers attempted to give chase, the pursuit in each case was called off for safety reasons.

“Motorists are reminded not to evade RIDE or other police officers, as this poses a serious safety risk to everyone involved and the community-at-large,” reads a statement from DRPS.

“Anyone doing this can face additional charges.”
