Honey produced in Brock Township wins top prize at Royal Agricultural Winter Fair

A Cannington couple are celebrating a sweet win at the recent Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.

Adam and Jocie Bayard – owners of Autumn’s Bounty – captured first place in the white liquid honey category for Ontario and Provinces East at the annual exhibition in Toronto earlier this month.

They also had Top-5 finishes in three other classes.

The couple started beekeeping as a hobby roughly a dozen years ago, starting with one hive.

Over the years, that figure has grown to more than 150 colonies.

“Most of them are in Brock Township,” Adam said.

While the couple also grows vegetables and raise pork and chicken, they’re planning to dedicate more time to producing their award-winning honey in 2019.

“We also won last year at the Empire State honey competition, which further shows that Brock Township produces great honey,” Adam said.
