A pair of Brock Wild teams won tournament championships over the weekend, with a third narrowly missing out.
Travelling to Shallow Lake, the lone setback on the weekend for the Peewee squad came in its first game, a 2-1 loss to the host club.
The Wild won the next two games – 5-3 against Dunnville and 11-0 against St.George – to earn a spot in the finals where they would face Shallow Lake in a rematch.
They captured the championship in heart-stopping fashion, securing a 2-1 victory with just 40 seconds left in the game.
Brock’s Atom squad were in Woodville for the weekend, opening with a 4-4 draw against the hosts before a 2-0 win over Mariposa.
The Wild dispatched Woodville by a 5-0 score in the semifinals and posted a 6-2 victory over Kawartha to win the championship.
The Bantam Wild also had a banner weekend in Woodville, falling just short of the championship.
